Pagani Huayra Documentary, Must Watch!

Pagani Automobili releases a making-of video documentary on the cusp of the much awaited C9′s arrival. One year since its grand unveiling at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, the Italian manufacturer’s latest and greatest supercar offering is about to hit the roads. The Pagani Huayra has outdone its predecessor – the excellent Zonda on both counts of aesthetics and power boasting a Mercedes-AMG 6.0 liter twin turbo V12 engine that produces over 700 horsepower and 1100Nm of torque, achieving 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 235 mph (a commendable jump from the Zonda F Roadster’s 220 mph). This short video shares the inspiration behind Pagani’s latest masterpiece, its development and build process, and expounds on the creative intelligence and artful vision that has contributed to the Huayra’s final design.

The The new EOS Rebel T4i features incredible image quality with an 18-megapixel CMOS (APS-C) sensor, DIGIC 5 Image Processor that is the first Canon DSLR that claims to offer continuous autofocus in movie mode and live view, which Canon calls “Hybrid AF”. This feature, intended mainly for video recording, is implemented through a new sensor technology in which certain pixels are dedicated to phase-detection AF (traditionally used in DSLRs) and others to contrast-detection AF (used in camcorders). When the subject is in the center of the frame, phase detection is used to identify the subject’s current location, with contrast detection then used to fine-tune the focus. Hybrid AF will be available with all lenses, but other improvements to video autofocus, specifically in smoothness and quietness, will depend on the use of Canon’s new STM lenses, two of which were announced alongside the The new EOS Rebel T4i features incredible image quality with an 18-megapixel CMOS (APS-C) sensor, DIGIC 5 Image Processor that . DPReview noted that the Hybrid AF system was similar to the focusing system of the Nikon 1 mirrorless cameras.

Mitsubishi Diamond Vision 665-inch Display

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (TOKYO: 6503) announced today that it has installed a 665-inch Diamond Vision display at Tochigi Green Stadium, home of Japan’s J League professional soccer team Tochigi SC. The order was received jointly with Tochidenko from Tochigi Prefecture in eastern Japan in August 2011 and installation was completed in February 2012, in time for the team’s season home opener on March 11.

The 8.32 m x 14.72 m Diamond Vision display has 832 horizontal scanning lines, the third-highest resolution among all soccer stadiums in Japan. Incorporating the latest light-emitting diode (LED) chips and Mitsubishi Electric’s display control technology, the display is more energy-efficient than its predecessor.

Mitsubishi Electric has also installed a 20-meter ribbon board along the field railing. Simultaneous control of the ribbon board and Diamond Vision display enable total coordination of audio-visual renderings in the stadium.

The integrated operation console for all signage is highly easy-to-use, allowing operators of non-professional sporting events to use their own roster presentations, connect personal camcorders and more.

The new screen is equipped with an emergency backup power generator, allowing the stadium to serve as a disaster evacuation site or for public notification purposes in the case of blackouts.

Mitsubishi Electric has installed more than 1,700 Diamond Vision displays globally since erecting the world’s first full-color large display system at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles in 1980. Going forward, Mitsubishi Electric will continue to expand its business in large displays for public stadia and other sports facilities.

Google Tablet to run Ice Cream Sandwich Android Due Next Month

The Google-branded tablet will have a 1280×800 resolution 7-inch display, according to Richard Shim, an analyst with DisplaySearch. Production is slated for April. The initial production run is between 1.5 million to 2 million units, according to Shim.

The long-awaited Android-running, Google-branded tablet reportedly arrives in April.

The device is aimed squarely at the dominant, and cheap, Amazon Kindle Fire, which is the world’s leading 7-inch Android device. The tablet, which former CEO Eric Schmidt first mentioned in December, also would advance Google’s plan to create a unified software and hardware ecosystem — just like that company in Cupertino.

Richard Shim, an analyst with DisplaySearch, told CNET the Google tablet is on track for production in April and is expected to cost $199. It will sport a 7-inch, 1280×800 display and run Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0). Those specs, if they pan out, one-up the Kindle Fire, which also costs $199 but has a 1024×600 display and runs on a modified version of Gingerbread (Android 2.3).

Should the tablet actually materialize, it would be yet another entry in Google’s sweeping hardware initiative. Google’s acquisition of Motorola Mobility will give the search company a ready-to-go hardware division. The tablet also would follow the rumored music-streaming entertainment device that would take advantage of the proposed Android@Home initiative announced at Google I/O.

Canon EOS 5D Mark III Digital SLR Camera

Canon is proud to present the highly anticipated EOS 5D Mark III. With supercharged EOS performance and stunning full frame, high-resolution image capture, the EOS 5D Mark III is designed to perform. Special optical technologies like the 61-Point High Density Reticular AF and an extended ISO range of 100-25600 (expandable to 50 (L), 51200 (H1) and 102400 (H2) make the EOS 5D Mark III ideal for shooting weddings in the studio or out in the field, and great for still photography. Advanced professional-level high definition video capabilities (that includes a host of industry-standard recording protocols and enhanced performance) make it possible to capture beautiful cinematic movies in EOS HD quality. A newly designed 22.3 Megapixel full-frame Canon CMOS sensor, Canon DIGIC 5+ Image Processor, and shooting performance up to 6.0 fps provide exceptional clarity and sharpness, even when capturing rapidly-unfolding scenes. Additional technological advancements include an Intelligent Viewfinder, Canon’s advanced iFCL metering system, High Dynamic Range (HDR), and Multiple Exposure mode — all of which that help make the EOS 5D Mark III the perfect multimedia tool.

After months of rumors and speculation, the next generation of Canon’s most popular pro-level shooter has arrived. On Friday, the company announced details of its long-awaited EOS 5D Mark III DSLR camera.

Notable updates are plentiful. There’s a totally new 22.3-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor (up from 21.1 on the Mark II) with a new photodiode structure that reduces image noise. The ISO range has been improved — the camera gains two stops on the high end and now goes from 100 to 25,600, with additional extended settings of 50, 51,200 and 102,400. The Mark III also inherits a few key features from Canon’s recently announced EOS-1D X, like the new DIGIC 5+ image processor, the 61-point autofocus system, on-chip image correction and a multi-exposure mode.

Canon’s previous 5D model has been central to the rise of the DSLR video scene, with indie auteurs shooting fantastic-looking HD video on their Mark IIs, so we expected this update to come with several video-specific performance bumps. The Mark III shoots 1080p video at up to 30 frames per second, but video is now processed by the DIGIC 5+ chip, which Canon says reduces image noise and moiré effects much better than the DIGIC 4 chip. There’s a new on-camera H.264 compression engine and new timecode-embedding features. The LCD monitor is now 3.2 inches (up from 3 inches) and has new touch-screen controls for silently adjusting your settings while you’re recording.

The Mark III will be available at the end of March at an estimated price of $3,500 for the body only, and $4,300 bundled with a 24-105mm f/4 zoom lens. The last-generation 5D Mark II — which has grown to become one of the most popular DSLRs in the world since its release three and a half years ago — will remain in the Canon line-up for at least the next few months. You’ll also be able to get one pretty cheap on Craigslist starting this weekend, no doubt (or at least a used Nikon D700).

The Mark III lands with a slew of optional accessories in tow, like a GPS receiver ($390), a wireless file transmitter ($850), a battery grip ($490, seen in one of the photos above) and the new Speedlite 600EX-RT wireless flash ($630) and transmitter ($470).
